Sulphur Springs ISD has more than 260 paraprofessionals providing services throughout the district. Many have completed some undergraduate coursework. Others desire to begin college, earn a degree, and enter the teaching profession. KEYS Program helps unlock the potential of our most valuable assets, people.

KEYS is a private foundation under the direction of a local board of directors made up of board members and employees. A selection committee consists of a representative from each campus. The application process for scholarships is open three times a year and allows paraprofessionals with the greatest need to access funds. Each application is reviewed and scored by the committee using a uniform rating scale.

More than 59 employees have received scholarships since the spring of 2001. Thirty (30) scholarship recipients have begun their teaching careers. Employees have awarded more than $54,400 in scholarships to help paraprofessionals become certified teachers. The outcomes are measurable and the results phenomenal. Help make a real difference today.
