My Name is Tammy Carrell, I am the Head Athletic Trainer for SSHS. My husband Victor and I have 3 sons; Stacy and his wife Brittany, Kasie, and Brady and 2 daughters; Krista and Danica. We have 5 grandkids, Melissa, Kilie Mae, Timmy, Mattick, and Aubry. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of twin boys in August.

Garrett McDermott, MS, LAT, ATC

Garrett McDermott was born and raised in Pleasanton, TX where he grew up playing football, basketball, cross country, and Track & Field. He went on to do Track & Field and Cross Country in college for one year before joining the military in 2011 as an F-16 Crew Chief in the Texas Air National Guard where he still currently serves. Garrett recently graduated with a MS in Athletic Training from the University of Texas at Arlington where he worked with Softball, Track & Field, as well as multiple high schools in the DFW area.

Marcos Garza, BS, LAT

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Marcos Garza is a first generation college graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was born and raised in Arlington, Texas with his parents Gilbert and Emma Garza. Marcos graduated from Arlington High School in 2011 and from UTA with a B.S. in Athletic Training  in 2016. During college, Marcos worked at clinical sites such as Grand Prairie High School, Fort Worth Christian, and UTA's Track, Volleyball, Baseball, and Women's Basketball Teams.

Work Experience: Outreach Athletic Trainer at Lakewood Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Outreach included schools such as Cumby ISD, and Dallas Christian College.

Josh Neil, BS, LAT
Josh Neill has moved over to Coach Jr. High Girls. he will still help as an athletic trainer as needed.
Josh Neill he comes to Sulphur Springs ISD from SFA. He attended Stephen F. Austin where he earned his bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During his time at SFA he was awarded several scholarships. He was placed on the SFA Athletic Directors honor and dean's list. As a freshmen he was accepted into the Athletic Training program. He was the only freshman to have been selected. He was taught and worked under Hall of Famer, Sandy Miller. He studied and worked throughout college in the sports medicine field, where he worked all sports. Upon graduation he earned his Texas Athletic Training license.

The most important part of being an Athletic Trainer, "You are there through the winning seasons, and most importantly, you are there through the losing seasons."
